Nelye L. Hayes

Miss Nelye L. Hayes passed away on March 4, 2026.  She married (the late) Roland Thomas December 25^th, 1957.  They had five children, (the late) Cindy E. Bewley of Fort McCoy, Teresa J. Crown of Silver Springs, Pat McCoy of Ocala, Roland C. Thomas of Orange Lake and Howard D. Thomas of Marion County.  Nelye had three sisters (the late) Kandi, (the late) Audrey, and (the late) Honey.   She also has 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Miss Hayes was a member of the Junior Class of Bushnell High School. She was a member of the FHA and a very active member of the 4-H Clubs of Sumter County.  She was currently the President of the 4-H Teener’s Club.  She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
